Brazil has never been a land of super-tall structures. Most of Brazilian highest buildings are located in São Paulo, the most important city in industrial scenery. But when the building of Water Front 1 is completed, Rio de Janeiro will have more high buildings than São Paulo in the top 32 Highest Buildings of Brazil.
An interesting fact about the highest Brazilian buildings is that the majority of them are residential. Office buildings taller than residential usually occur less frequently in most of Brazilian cities.
The first skycraper in Brazil was the Martinelli Building, in São Paulo.
